Ableton Live 10 Demo:

Please download the  Ableton Live Suite 10 Demo, which is fully functional, and install it: https://www.ableton.com/en/trial/

Ableton has pledged to make the Demo available to Music 481 students for the remainder of the semester without a fee. This means that you’ll be able to open and explore any Ableton demonstration files for class, and just have fun playing around and/or working in the program.  If you have downloaded the demo in the past, they assure me that you’ll be able to download and use it again.  The download page still says that there is a 30-day limit, but that is being extended.

Here is Ableton’s latest message to Dr. A (March 31, 2020):

“We have now extended our Live 10 Trial to work for 90 days.  Students should no longer be required to contact Ableton Support to extend their trial license beyond 30 days.   In case a 30 day trial has already started, the trial period will be automatically extended to 90 days (minus the number of days already used).  Stay safe and we hope you enjoy using Ableton Live.”

Here is Ableton’s earlier message to Dr. A (March 23, 2020):

” Hi Kathryn – We will be making changes on our server to extend the 30-day trials to last longer. So your students can ignore the message and go about their work. I may have some more concrete info for you in a week or two if there will be any changes at all necessary on your end, but rest assured we are committed to ensuring your students have access to Live at home for at least the next 90 days.”
