Weeks 9, 10 & 11

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Start Here:
• Always reboot the computer before you login.
• Workstation login:
• User: music.
• Password: bartok.
• Launch a browser, log in to Canvas, and download Lab C_Part1 and then LabC_Part2.
2. Lab C Goals:
Part 1:
• Analyzing an audio recording and its’ structure.
• Creating scenes in a Live set corresponding to an audio recording..
• Understanding the controls/features of the APC40 MKII.
• Recording a performance from Session View into Arrangement View.
• Performing live for your TF.
Part 2:
• Working with Ebosuite and Ebosuite effects.
• Working with Max 4 Live effects LFO, Shaper, and Envelope Follower.
• Creating original scenes with audio and visual sources.
• Understanding the controls/features of the APC40 MKII.
• Performing live for your Lab.
3. Submitting Lab C:
Part 1:
• Use Collect All and Save in your Ableton Live set to back up your work – every 30 seconds!
• When you are finished performing for your TF stay in your Ableton Live set and use collect all and save again.
• Next, quit Ableton Live and label your .als file: LabC_Part1_LivePerformance_APC40_YOURNAME.als.
• Then, label your Project folder: LabC_Part1_LivePerformance_APC40_YOURNAME Project folder.
• Then, correctly compress your ENTIRE Ableton Live FOLDER and submit Lab C,Part1 with your TF present online at Canvas.
Part 2:
• Use Collect All and Save in your Ableton Live set to back up your work – every 30 seconds!
• When you are finished performing for your Lab stay in your Ableton Live set and use collect all and save again.
• DO Not RE-LABEL your Ableton .als file or your Ableton Project folder!
• INSTEAD, RE-LABEL your LabC_Part2_Submission folder: LabC_Part2_LivePerformance_Ebosuite_APC40_YOURNAME_Submission.
• Then, correctly compress your ENTIRE LabC_Part2_LivePerformance_Ebosuite_APC40_YOURNAME_Submission folder and submit Lab C, Part2 online at Canvas.
GRADING:
Lab Exercises will be graded numerically, with 100% the highest grade.
DUE DATES:
Part 1: DUE no later than your lab section on 4/2, 4/3, or 4/5.
Part 2: DUE no later than Friday 4/12.
